Bird's Nest
Ash is probably one of my favorite woods. The fondness probably comes from my love for baseball. In this piece, I have colored the ash wit an aniline dye and then pushed titanium white oil paint into the open pores. The eggs are made from soft maple, also colored with dye and rubbed with white oil paint.
River Pebbles
These wooden stones are probably my all-time-favorite project. Each one I make is unique and smoothed to a reasonably high polish. The stones are comfortable to hold and make a soothing sound when you drop one in a pile. They use up all the beautiful cutoffs that would otherwise be waste.
On your mark
One of the few toys I've had time to actually make for my kids. They were simple and it was fun to play with aniline dye.
Ripplemarks
The inspiration for this bowl comes from sand dunes. I love sand dunes... I love the regular randomness, I love their shifting nature, and I love the way a low raking light hits them.
Limbert Inspired Tabourette
My own personal take on a Limbert classic. This piece is made from cherry heart and sapwood.
Turned bowl
A lidded bowl turned from Mopani. The top finial is made of ebony.
